Museum of Ustroń
The museum was opened on 18 April 1986 at 3 Hutnicza Street, on the site of the former industrial complex of the “Klemens” blast furnace plant. The museum was founded by the FSM factory (cooperating with Fiat). The institution is located in the steelworks management building, which is more than 200 years old.
Exhibitions are open to the public on the first floor, ground floor and in the open-air museum, where monumental blacksmithing machines are on display. Our collection contains many impressive machines and other historical artefacts from Ustron’s industrial and agricultural past. The rich ethnographic collection of our museum includes, among other things, a display of Těšín costume, beautiful lace and embroidery, and unique old household appliances.
In addition, temporary exhibitions present the works of contemporary artists associated with the region. Here you can watch exciting films about the history and traditions of Ustron and also get many interesting regional publications. You can take part in workshops in the Creative Work House next to the museum. There is also the opportunity to buy unique souvenirs from local folk artists. A friendly atmosphere awaits you here, you can touch and feel ancient objects, we also offer many attractions for children, especially the opportunity to play with old fun toys.
